  宏音斋(北京宏音斋民族文化发展中心)创办于清朝末期,创始人吴启瑞迫于生计开始从事乐器制作技术。1920年,吴文明在父亲吴启瑞的扶持下,在房山良乡北大街创办了乐器制作小作坊“宏音坊”;1927年,为求发展,吴文明来到京城内,在宣武门东市场创办了“宏音斋”乐器铺;新中国成立以后,吴文明被中国广播乐团请去,成为“国家乐团的演奏员”和“乐器改革制作维修师”。吴文明之子吴仲孚,全面主持了“宏音斋”的工作之后将“宏音斋”乐器的制作,慢慢偏向了管乐制作,走上了新的发展之路。第四代传人吴景馨是吴仲孚的女儿。她告诉记者,宏音斋在成立之初所有民族乐器都做,但是到父亲这一代,渐渐地就只做笙管乐器,但也逐渐从单纯的制作乐器,转向了对民族乐器的挖掘和改良。吴氏第四代传承人吴彤手持宏音斋吴氏管乐器,走遍世界舞台,并获“格莱美”国际音乐大奖。

  伴随着中国民族音乐的发展,宏音斋吴氏几代人,几十年如一日与中国演奏大师们共同合作,为唢呐标准化、系列化、现代化的发展,奠定了技术基础,开创了宏音斋对加键唢呐高、中、低音全面研发的里程。使中国民族管乐器从解放初只有高音乐器,没有中低音乐器,发展到现在高音、中音、次中音、低音、倍低音,现代化、系列化的民族交响编制,装备着中国现代化的民族乐团,为中国民族音乐事业的发展做出了突出贡献。
